This recall involves certain models of Olsen direct vent oil furnaces. The furnaces are grey in colour and come in various sizes. The name "Olsen" is found the front panel.

The model number can be found on the furnace rating plate of the furnace. The model numbers included in this recall are:

Hazard Identified

The pressure switch that senses a blocked flue may not function properly. This could result in soot migrating into the living space.

Neither ECR International, Inc. nor Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these affected furnaces.
Corrective Action

Consumers who purchased Olsen furnaces within the time frame should check the furnace rating plate for the model number and verify their product is not affected by calling ECR International.

Olsen is offering a free service repair for affected products. The upgrade needs to be performed by a service provider only.
